What is human trafficking?

Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings for the purpose of forced labor or sex trafficking. As the world’s fastest growing criminal industry, it affects every corner of the globe, including Montana. It is a $150 billion criminal industry that denies freedom to millions of people around the world. Every day, men, women, and children are being exploited for criminal sex, or manual labor against their will. It is estimated that less than one percent of victims are ever identified. Many return to “the lifestyle” (streets), end up in jail or prison, or simply disappear due to lack of specialized longterm care for survivors.

Once people are aware of trafficking and sexual slavery, everyone can work together to help stop this worldwide criminal epidemic.

150 BILLION DOLLAR CRIMINAL INDUSTRY

“Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

— Psalms 82:3-4

Millstone Ministries serves as a nonprofit resource dedicated to preventing human trafficking, collaborating with reputable organizations on the front lines to combat this grave issue.

We believe that community awareness, education, and training is one of the biggest ways we can bring this evil to light. The prevention of human trafficking and child exploitation starts with understanding what it is and how to spot it.
